I feel so untouched
And I want you so much
That I just can't resist you
It's not enough to say that I miss you
I feel so untouched right now
Need you so much somehow
I can't forget you
Been going crazy from the moment I met you

The first intresting study a Uni has ever done !!!

Thu Nov 19, 2009, 8:47 PM
Come on everybody how often do i post a new journal entry you could at least read just this one :XD:

Alright, howdy fellow deviants (and all have fallen onto this page due to a bad link or just microsoft being well microsoft).

We all know our tastes in music and personality type are closely related, but how many of us have stopped to think about the extent of this and how much our music collection tells others about our own lives and the lifestyles we lead.

The research, which was carried out by Professor Adrian North of Heriot-Watt University, is said to be the largest such study ever undertaken and in my opinion the most important and/or intresting

"We have always suspected a link between music taste and personality. This is the first time that we've been able to look at it in real detail. No-one has ever done this on this scale before." - Adrian North

More than 36,000 people from all over the world were asked to rate 104 musical styles and also questioned about aspects of their personality.

Below I have listed a few results from popular genres:

BLUES High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle and at ease

JAZZ High self-esteem, creative, outgoing and at ease

CLASSICAL High self-esteem, creative, introvert and at ease

RAP High self-esteem, outgoing

OPERA High self-esteem, creative, gentle

REGGAE High self-esteem, creative, not hardworking, outgoing, gentle and at ease

DANCE Creative, outgoing, not gentle

INDIE Low self-esteem, creative, not hard working, not gentle

BOLLYWOOD Creative, outgoing

CHART High self-esteem, not creative, hardworking, outgoing, gentle, not at ease

SOUL High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle, at ease

ROCK/
HEAVY METAL Low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle, at ease

COUNTRY AND
WESTERN Hardworking, outgoing

What do we reckon Guys and Gals, how closly linked is YOUR music taste to your personality and how accurate are the results above?

Do you think

* The survey has some truth to it but its nothing more then mearly intresting

* Are the results listed above bang on and you are now scared that if its
this easy to find out what mr X's lifestyle is like, it is only a small
step for Mr Y to get hold of mr X's personal information than you had
once previously thought i.e 2 mins ago

* Or do you still remain your theroy that its just like any other uni survey
and its just bull**** that we already knew and is another waste of our
tax payers money to put people through university just to find out what
the students, tutors and public already knew?
